President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emphasized the crucial role of government support for police veterans at all levels, stressing the need for collaboration with well-meaning members of society. This statement was made during the launch of the Nigeria Police Force Veterans Foundation at the Corporate Headquarters, Police Service Commission, Abuja.

Minister of State Police Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, conveyed President Tinubu's commitment to not only endorse the Veterans Foundation but also initiate reviews to improve the pension and severance packages of retired Police Officers. The President proposed the establishment of a National Police and Veterans' Day, suggesting dates linked to significant historical events within the police force.

President Tinubu commended the thoughtful initiative behind the Police Veterans Foundation, recognizing it as a noble project aimed at enhancing the welfare of retired officers. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the police force, emphasizing the debt owed to them for their contributions to national security.

In his address, Tinubu highlighted the Nigeria Police Force's critical role in maintaining state legitimacy and internal security. He urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the government, assuring them of ongoing efforts to address security challenges and stabilize the economy.
